Bruno Coulais is the composer of the upcoming drama Gemma Bovery . The film is directed by Anne Fontaine and stars Gemma Arterton, Jason Flemyng, Mel Raido and Fabrice Luchini. The movie is based on a graphic novel by Posy Simmonds, which is loosely based on Gustave Flabert’s Madame Bovary and chronicles the last last few months in the life of the English expatriate living in Normandy. men at work Philippe Carcassonne ( Coco Before Chanel , The Illusionist ) and Faye Ward are producing the Gaumont production. Fontaine has previously collaborated with Coulais on the 2011 romantic comedy My Worst Nightmare . She has also worked together witch such composers as Alexandre Desplat ( Coco Before Chanel and Christopher Gordon ( Two Mothers ). Gemma Bovery is expected to be released in France later this year. No word yet on a domestic distribution deal.
Coulais whose previous film scoring credits include such titles as Coraline , The Chorus and The Crimson Rivers also has the animated feature men at work The Shadow King directed by Henry Selick, as well as the animated men at work film Song of the Sea directed by Tomm Moore coming up.
